The Flyer Program
The flyer program has been designed to provide your pet the opportunity to find a new home without taking him or her to a shelter. The main requirement is that you are able to keep the pet in your home while we search for a new home.
The fee for the flyer program is $20.00. This helps to support our adoption program and covers costs of color flyers that we print out to post throughout the Denver metro area. We will also screen potential applicants and will process Good Sam on-line applications if you so chose. We have over ten years of experience in finding good, responsible pet owners. Please mail to:
Good Samaritan Pet Center
PO Box 202005
Denver, CO 80220
We will need a good quality photo of your dog or cat,and we like to have a head shot and a body shot. We also need the people participating in this program to stay in communication with us. If the pet finds a new home or is taken to a shelter we need to be notified so we can remove the animal from our website.

We list all flyer program animals on the Good Samaritan Pet Center Site, the Adopt-A-Pet.com site and also Petfinder.com.
In conjunction with that, colored flyers are posted in pet friendly businesses, vet clinics, grooming shops, etc. throughout the Denver metro area. You are also emailed a flyer that you can print and post.
Flyer Program Process
First, please fill out our application form at the bottom of this page so we can learn more about your pet and the reason you have made the decision to give up your pet.
Once we have contacted you to let you know this animal is suitable for the flyer program, we will need the following:
- Good quality head (showing a full face) and body shot. A jpg. 4 x 6, 100 dpi is preferred.
- A write up about the animal stating the age, sex, spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, weight, personality traits and type of home that would be best for your animal. We also need a name and a contact number or email for the flyer.
- Email this information to cv5865@gmail.com.
We suggest you never give a pet away for free. You can charge and collect an amount that you feel is appropriate or ask the new adopter to make a donation to Good Samaritan. As a frame of reference, we charge $90 for adult dogs and $50 for adult cats. Our fees are some of the most reasonable in town. You want to make sure your animal is going to a home where the pet will be well cared for and the family can afford to take care of it.
Hints For Taking A Good Picture Of Your Pet
A good picture is important when you are trying to rehome your pet. A pet's photo is what someone sees first when searching for a pet to adopt. It is importand to make your pet really stand out when showing him or her on our websites and on the flyer.
~~First impressions mean everything. A posted pet with a bad photo can cause people to pass right on by your adoptable animal.
In our experience, a good eye-catching photo often features a close-up of the pet's face. We like to show a close-up face shot and a body shot of each animal.
Photo Tips:
- Consider using a bandana or decorative collar
- Place a toy in the photo with the pet.
- Take the photo with a solid, contrasting color background..
A good photo, if possible, should NEVER…
- be dark or gloomy.
- be blurry, out of focus, or not have the pet shown clearly.
Remember, you should take the photos using a lower resolution on your digital camera. They will still look great on the Internet (which only shows low resolution images) and will load much faster to any site you post them on because they are smaller files.
