Basic Adoption Information All applicants must complete a Good Samaritan Pet Center Adoption application either by downloading a hard copy for faxing/mailing or sending one electronically through the website. As part of the application you need to list two references and your current veterinarian. A Good Samaritan representative will review your application, contact references, and contact the veterinarian before any other action is taken. The adoption donation for cats is $50.00. The adoption donation for kittens (under nine months old) is $80.00. For kittens that require a second FVRCP vaccination prior to adoption, the adoption donation will be $95.00. The adoption donation for adult dogs is $90.00. For puppies, the adoption donation is $125.00. The adoption donation for senior dogs (over 7 years old) is $75. The adoption donation includes the spay/neuter of each adopted animal and any other necessary medical procedures. The adopted animal will have received their first vaccination (FVRCP for cats and DHPPC for dogs). Younger animals will be spayed or neutered at Harrison Memorial Veterinary Hospital at approximately 20 weeks of age. Kittens/puppies will have been dewormed and will have received a veterinary examination. Adult cats will have been tested for FIV/feLV. Our dogs do not receive rabies vaccinations. Our cats do not receive feline leukemia vaccinations or rabies vaccinations as all our cats will be indoor cats.
