Hi there! My name is Lady and I’m a six year old chow mix. I didn’t have a very good start in life, but Good Samaritan folks have taken me under their wing and I now understand what it’s like to be loved. I lived on a heavy four foot chain for three years. I guess the person caring for me thought I needed a padlock on my collar to hold the heavy chain on. It was a sad life for me, but I was rescued one day by some nice ladies. I’m a very shy girl, but it doesn’t take me too long to make new friends. I have lots of volunteers who come to my pen and take me out for walks everyday. I love all of them. My foster moms have decided I must have a new home by September or I’ll be taken to a shelter. I’m not sure what a shelter is, but it sounds kind of scary. I’d rather find a family to belong to. I need a patient person who can take time to expose me to all the new things in the world that I don’t know about. I love going for walks and I don’t pull on the leash anymore. I’m not very good with cats, so I couldn’t go to a home with kitties. I’d really like to find a human guardian that had time to spend with me. I’m not really demanding. I have a good appetite and eat healthy dog food and my favorite junk food are hot dogs. I’ve been spayed and had my teeth cleaned and had all my shots. I have lived outdoors for too long. First on a chain and now I’m living in a pen. It’s an okay place and I have a nice dog house, but what I really want is to be part of a family. Please won’t someone consider giving me a chance.
